Realising the Opportunity

IBioIC's 2nd Annual Conference: Thursday 28-Friday 29 January 2016


IBioIC's second annual conference aims to attract over two hundred biobased professionals, academics and students from across the UK for this two day conference which is set to showcase and exemplify IBioIC’s current and future activities, and provide plentiful networking opportunities in the hope of facilitating further collaborations.

With keynote presentations and sessions from some of the UK's leading academics and industry experts, other key highlights of the conference will include:

  • Members showcase on the impact and successes of IBioIC funded project collaborations
  • Meet our PhD's and the MSc class of 2015-16
  • Panel sessions from leading technological experts around the topics of: Synthetic Biology; Biotransformations; and Integrated Bioprocessing
  • A look into the challenges and barriers to IB in Scotland
  • We find out how other countries have integrated IB into their economy and gain their perspective on our achievements
  • Civic Reception hosted by the Lord Provost welcoming delegates to the City of Glasgow
  • Networking conference dinner with awards ceremony and guest speakers

The Conference Programme

Our conference begins on Thursday with registration from 10am through to 17.30 and the evening will consist of Civic Reception and conference dinner. Day two resumes at 9am finishing at 15.30 on Friday.

The Venue

Based right in the city centre of Glasgow, the conference takes place at the Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) based at The University of Strathclyde.
