Bob Tooze is Managing Director of Drochaid Research Services Ltd. Following a degree and PhD in Chemistry at Imperial College London, Bob has spent over 33 years in the Chemical Industry in various companies and locations but always in Research. In 2017 he led the establishment of Drochaid, a contract R&D company in the fields of catalysis and materials science. Bob was previously a member of the Scottish Science Advisory Council (SSAC), chaired Chemical Sciences Scotland and the Industrial Advisory Panel of the UK Catalysis Hub. He sits on the Governing Board of IBioIC and was recently appointed to 2 EPSRC Strategic Advisory Teams (Manufacturing the Future and Physical Sciences). He has an Honorary Chair in Chemistry at the University of St Andrews, delivering courses in the area of catalysis. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
