Dr Judith Huggan, Business Development Manager - IBioIC
Jude joined IBioIC as Skills Programme Manager in May 2014 and was responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of all educational programmes and STEM initiatives offered through IBioIC. She, along with Ashley, is trying to teach the IB community to pronounce the innovation centre’s acronym “IBioIC” correctly, whilst also hoping to help create over 1500 jobs in Scotland by 2025 with the skills programmes offered by IBioIC and its partners.
Jude is a medicinal chemist by training, having obtained her BSc Honours (1st Class) in 2002 and her PhD in 2006 (University of Strathclyde). Jude has held research positions for a number of years, both in academia and in industry, and moved into the project management area in 2013. One of her proudest achievements with IBioIC to date has been to see the MSc students blossom into confident scientists and gain full-time positions within the biotechnology industry. Jude has since moved over to the Business Development team and since October has held the position of Business Development Manager responsible for member retention.
Jude has been actively involved in the charitable sector with MND Scotland, a charity for people with MND in Scotland and recently demitted office as Vice-Chair (2009-2015).
