The company is headquartered in Scotland with an R&D facility near Dundee. This position may be a remote role but will require regular travel to Dundee and regular travel to international development partners.

Job Description

GCS are seeking an experienced and driven Development Project Manager within therapeutic drug/vaccine development to coordinate their preclinical programs. This role is critical to ensuring the successful execution of their R&D pipeline; working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality data packages on time and within budget to support project progression to clinical development.

Key Activities

  • Support the planning, execution, and tracking of preclinical development projects from early discovery through IND-enabling studies and regulatory submission

  • Oversee submissions to scientific advice committees and involvement in novel vaccine applications to regulatory bodies, such as the EMA/MHRA

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk registers.

  • Contribute to the preparation of key documentation, including regulatory documentation, grant applications

  • Track and communicate project performance, status, and key decisions to stakeholders and leadership

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including biology, pharmacology, toxicology, CMC, and regulatory affairs

  • Manage relationships with CROs and academic collaborators to ensure timely and quality delivery of outsourced studies

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards throughout project execution.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in pharma/biotech industry with a strong focus on therapeutic drug development

  • 3+ years’ project management experience in pharmaceutical or biotech setting

  • BSc/MSc in a related scientific field, e.g. immunology, autoimmunity. PhD desirable

  • Proven track record of managing complex R&D projects and cross-functional teams

  • Expertise with project management software

  • Familiarity with creation, implementation, communication and reporting of project budgets

  • Excellent organisational and verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Strong ability to manage multiple and varied tasks

  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification would be desirable

  • Ability to work remotely if required
