SRG is proud to be partnering with an industry-leading manufacturer and marketer of personal and home care aerosol products, based in Scotland. The company is now seeking a Development Chemist to join its New Product Development (NPD) team.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will play a key part in the development of innovative formulations—from concept through to production—while ensuring quality, performance, and regulatory compliance.

Role Overview

Working within a collaborative team environment, the Development Chemist will lead and contribute to the end-to-end development of new and existing product lines. The role includes:

  • Formulating and developing a variety of personal and home care products.

  • Managing product development from laboratory scale to full-scale manufacturing.

  • Collaborating with internal teams to approve artwork, product specifications, and testing results.

  • Performing stability, performance, and wet chemistry testing.

  • Participating in client meetings, calls, and site visits to understand briefs and present technical insights.

  • Reviewing raw materials to ensure products remain competitive in the market.

  • Ensuring compliance with cosmetic and detergent regulations throughout the development process.

Candidate Requirements

  • A degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of industrial experience developing personal or home care formulations.

  • In-depth knowledge of cosmetic and detergent regulations.

  • Strong wet chemistry and laboratory testing skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
