Magdalena Klimekova

Magdalena joined the IBioIC team in Edinburgh FlexBio facility in June 2023 as a lab trainee. She is in her fourth-year pursuing MSci degree in Human Embryology and Developmental Biology at University of Aberdeen.  

Utilising her previous experience in Clinical Microbiology and Biochemistry, she assists during the experimental work, specialising primarily in upstream bioprocessing. Additionally, she helps to keep up with the lab maintenance and finalising documentation.  

Magdalena is excited about the networking opportunities, relevant laboratory skills and professional growth her Industrial Placement within IBioIC will bring. She believes the gained experience will be beneficial in pursuing a research career and future biochemical industry and biotechnology sector.  

Magdalena can be easily found with her camera in hand, exploring nature, hiking, or cities. She enjoys cooking with her friends combined with a cozy movie night or playing her beloved piano and ukulele. She is involved with a number of the University of Aberdeen student societies that are associated with her interests in photography, supporting Women in Science or playing floorball.
