About the event

Scotland is home to a vibrant EngBio academic community encompassing world-leading experts and research facilities. The Centre for Engineering Biology are excited to announce the 1st Scottish Engineering Biology Research Community Meeting. This free event aims to showcase the ground-breaking EngBio research taking place across Scotland and allow researchers from different Scottish institutions to meet and network.

The day-long meeting will include presentations, flash-talks and posters organised around the four National Engineering Biology Programme themes: Biomedicine, Clean Growth, Food Systems and Environmental Solutions. Participants aiming to establish new partnerships will have ample opportunities to network across disciplines, institutions and career levels.

Invited Participants

EngBio academic community of Scotland: researchers (group leaders, postdocs, PhD students, technical staff) from relevant disciplines (e.g. biology, engineering, chemistry, physics, social sciences, informatics). Expert facilities supporting EngBio R&D and research translation. Research support staff and organisations.

Further Information

Registration for the event will close at noon on 30 April but spaces are limited.

At registration, participants will be invited to upload an abstract if they want to present a flash-talk or poster. We will confirm selected abstracts by 1 May.

Before the event, registered participants will be invited to provide information about their expertise/interests to facilitate connections and networking for those who wish to.

Note: The Scottish Parliament election will take place on Thursday 7 May. Polling stations will open at 7am and close at 10pm. You can also apply to vote by post / proxy before 21 / 28 April.
