Project Manager

Help shape the future of Scotland’s blue economy.

Seafood Scotland is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead the development of the Scottish Ocean Cluster – a pioneering initiative inspired by the world-leading Iceland Ocean Cluster model. The Cluster will unite the seafood sector, biotechnology, academia, and investors to unlock the full value of Scotland’s seafood side streams, drive innovation, and create sustainable economic growth in coastal communities.

About the role

In this dynamic role, you will co-ordinate all aspects of the Scottish Ocean Cluster, building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and leading the creation of a robust business plan. You’ll facilitate workshops, adapt global best practice to Scotland’s context, and identify funding opportunities to ensure the Cluster’s growth beyond 2026.

Key areas of focus for the initial period include:

  • Developing a 3-year strategic plan and 1-year operational plan, with associated cashflow forecasts.

  • Building deep understanding of the seafood and biotechnology sectors in Scotland.

  • Designing and appraising business model options through stakeholder engagement.

  • Leading funding applications to secure the Cluster’s future.

  • Raising the Cluster’s profile through communications and engagement.

About you

You’ll bring proven project management experience, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You’ll be confident engaging with senior stakeholders, adaptable, and able to work independently. Experience in the seafood, marine, or biotechnology sectors is desirable but not essential.

Why join Seafood Scotland?

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a transformative national initiative, working at the intersection of industry, innovation, and sustainability. You’ll play a central role in building something with lasting impact for Scotland’s seafood sector and coastal communities.
