College
College access courses
Scotland's college sector offers access and bridging programmes that can prepare learners without traditional qualifications for entry into an HND or degree-level study in biotechnology and applied sciences. If your school qualifications are not current or complete, a college access course could be your way in. Contact your local college directly to find out what is available and whether it is the right fit for your background.
Work-based learning
Graduate apprenticeships
Graduate apprenticeships combine employment with degree-level academic study — allowing you to earn a qualification while working in a relevant role. Where programmes in biotechnology and related disciplines are available in Scotland, they offer a practical, employer-supported route into the sector for those already in work or seeking to make a career change without stepping away from employment.
