Certificate of Upstream Bioprocessing (3-Day)

Course Lead: Dr. Shiwen Zhuang – Senior Fermentation Scientist | Trainers: Elise Viau, Albert Serrano Gomez, Shiwen Zhuang

Overview:

The course is aimed at early career professionals and anyone who wants to develop an understanding of upstream bio-manufacturing techniques and processes.

The 3-day course consists of 6 lectures, enhanced with practical demo’s using bench-scale, pilot-scale, and single-use bioreactors. In particular, the trainees will gain hands-on fermentation experience using pilot-scale stainless steel bioreactor. At the completion of the course, the trainees will be presented a ‘Certificate of Upstream Bioprocessing’ issued by IBioIC.

The course includes a set-up, inoculation, monitoring and harvest of a 30L yeast fermentation in our SIP stired tank system, with hands on opportunities.

Date, Location and Cost:

28th-30th Jun | 27th – 29th Sep | 29th Nov-1st Dec

All dates are from Tuesday to Thursday at FlexBio Facility (Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh)

£1800 + VAT per attendee (academic rate available)

We’ll limit max. 4 attendees per course to secure hands-on opportunities for each person.

Please contact scaleup@ibioic.com for further details and sign-up.
