Who should attend this course?
• Are you a scientist or engineer in industry who wants to develop and/or optimise bioprocesses?
• Are you a supplier moving into or wanting to learn more about the biotech sector?
• Are you a PG student or postdoc working with industry or planning to in the future?

You will learn about:
• Media development and process optimisation of microbial fermentations
• Basic fermenter use i.e. calibration, Sterilisation-In-Place (SIP), pH monitoring, fermentation of the culture and harvest
• Downstream processing and product isolation including cell separation, filtration and purification of products

You will see in action:
• A pilot-scale plant
• How a fermenter works and a Sterilisation-In-Place demo at 30L scale
• Specialist fermentation skills (sterile technique and anaerobic manipulation)
