Aberdeen-based biotech company wins Scotland’s Life Sciences Award

Dr Edward Green, CEO of Aberdeen-based biotech company NCIMB Ltd has won the Business Leadership Award at Scotland’s Life Sciences Awards. The evening, which was held in Glasgow on the 13th of March, was a fantastic celebration of all that the Scottish life sciences sector is achieving. Award categories included Business Leadership, Innovation, Innovative Collaboration, Outstanding Skills Development, Global Export Impact, Rising Stars, and Lifetime Achievement.

Edward joined NCIMB as Chief Executive in August 2022, bringing expertise in microbiology, industrial biotechnology, and bio-entrepreneurship. Tasked with revitalizing the business, he has focused on strengthening core services, unlocking the commercial potential of NCIMB’s microbial strain collection, and securing strategic partnerships. His leadership has driven innovation, refined licensing models, and fostered a culture of ambition, positioning NCIMB as a dynamic, high-growth player in industrial biotechnology.
