Biodegradable and Compostable Polymer Materials

A new paper from the Biobased and Biodegradable Industries Association has been published which seeks to clarify the terminologies used around the biodegradation of biopolymers.

The paper covers Utilising biodegradability in polymer materials, Composting, Anaerobic digestion (AD), Biodegradation in freshwater and marine environments, Oxo-degradation or oxo-biodegradation or “biotransformation”, the use of biobased materials and conveying the message to the consumer.
